On May 13, 2020, Dr. Jeffrey Ettinger gave a lecture on the English language as part of his “English Fundamentals” class at Georgia State University. In his lecture, Dr. Ettinger discussed the accuracy, clarity, and structure of the language. He discussed the phonemic differences in British and American English, as well as how the English language has evolved throughout history. In addition, he also discussed the etymology and development of words, as well as how words are formed, split, and combined in English. Dr. Ettinger also discussed the rules of grammar and punctuation, as well as how to write with good style and readability. Finally, Dr. Ettinger reviewed grammar topics, including the verb tenses, parts of speech, and sentence structures. He ended his lesson by emphasizing the importance of learning, understanding, and using English properly.
