GR8874 Green-Mode PWM Controller with Integrated Protections Applications Features Open-frame SMPS High-voltage (500V) startup circuit Switching AC/DC adapter Standby 100mW solution Current mode PWM Description Very low startup current (<20uA) The GR8874 is a highly-integrated, low startup Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) current, current mode PWM controller with Non-audible-noise green-mode control green-mode function and high-voltage start up Programmable switching frequency circuit. A high-voltage current source supplies the Cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting start up current and the traditional start-up resistor Internal leading-edge blanking can be saved in order to reduce the power Internal slope compensation dissipation due to start-up resistor. The controller Internal 4ms soft start (Fs = 65KHz) also includes the leading-edge blanking of the Gate output voltage clamp current sensing, internal slope compensation and Soft driving for reducing EMI cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting. It is also Over-voltage protection (OVP) on Vcc pin integrated soft driving for reducing EMI, gate output Over-load protection (OLP) voltage clamp function for protecting power 500mA driving capability MOSFET. GR8874 provides several protections such as OLP, OVP, and OCP for fault conditions. The GR8874 improves the performance and reduces the cost of power supplies. It is available in 8-pin SOP,7-pin SOP and 8-pin DIP package.
