The IXYS XS170S is a 8-pin, fast-switching, single switch thyristor module. It is designed for use in motor control, automotive, and industrial applications. This device features a bidirectional thyristor with a rated current of 170A and a voltage rating of 1600V. The XS170S can be used as a phase-control switch, with control circuitry designed to provide short-circuit protection and reduce turn-on surge current. Additionally, the device can be used to regulate a DC power supply and provide higher accuracy than a linear regulator. The XS170S is an ideal solution for applications requiring power switching with low noise and minimal losses.
