Additional Infomation About Product

The SIT208 is an optocoupler manufactured by Kodenshi, specifically, a photo interrupter in a through-hole, RoHS-compliant package. It is an electronic component used for signal transmission, which enables two otherwise isolated circuits to communicate. It consists of an infrared LED, housed within the package, that is connected to an aperture to create an infrared light/dark relay. When an opaque object is placed between the LED and the aperture, a decrease in the amount of received light interrupts the signal and the relay is opened. This makes it ideal for applications such as motor drive or switch automation.
