The SP3232EEY-L/TR is a surface mount RS-232 transceiver manufactured by MaxLinear. It is part of the SP3232E series of transceivers, all of which are designed to provide a reliable, cost-effective solution for connecting asynchronous communications devices with a simple UART interface. This chip offers a data transfer rate of up to 235 kbits/second and features a 5.5V operating voltage. It is available in a TSSOP-16 package, which is ideal for board-level installations with limited space requirements. It also incorporates integrated ESD protection to help protect it against any electrical noise or voltage spikes that may be present in the environment. The SP3232EEY-L/TR offers an ideal solution for connecting legacy asynchronous devices with more modern UART-equipped solutions.
