The ST16C554DIQ64-F is a quad Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) with a 16-byte FIFO buffer manufactured by MaxLinear. It is part of the ST68C554 series and is designed to operate at data rate speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps at 5.5V. It is supplied in a 64-lead TQFP (Thin Quad Flat Pack) package, and is fully PCA/PECL compatible. It supports up to four independent serial channels in a single package, and each UART has an independent baud rate generator, each with a 4-byte FIFO for increased data throughput and error-free transmission. Additionally, it features X-on/off support, programmable baud rates, data formats, framing errors (7/8 bits, even/odd/no parity, 1-2 stop bits, and 4-wire auto-flow control) and addressing capability. It also has an onboard interrupt controller to manage, prioritize, and reliably service incoming interrupts.
