Graphics 1882.2221 is the software version of Mentor Graphics’ FloTHERM XT, a thermal analysis package used in the design of electronics products. FloTHERM XT is a 3-D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program used to simulate airflow and heat transfer in electrical, electronic and mechanical systems. The software can quickly simulate the most common thermal systems, processes and conditions encountered in electronic design. It uses a combination of finite element and boundary element methods to predict temperature profiles and fluid flow. Additionally, it has an easy-to-use graphical user interface that allows engineers to quickly create models and analyze multiple thermal scenarios for their components and systems.
