The 24LC256-E/ST is a 32Kx8 (256 Kbit) Serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) organized as 256 pages of 16 bytes each. It is an electrically erasable memory that can be programmed and erased, byte by byte, to store user data for a long time without any power. The 24LC256-E/ST offers fast write times, providing high reliability and performance. It is 3-wire, I2C and low voltage compatible, making low power operation possible. The device features both a sector write protection and a software write protect for individual bytes within a sector. The memory provides a user selectable maximum write current limit option, where write currents can be extended beyond 500mA. It can operate over a temperature range from -40 to +85C.
