25LC256-E/SM is a 256Kb Serial EEPROM device from Microchip. It has 8 pins, operates over a wide voltage range (1.8V - 5.5V), and is available in a range of package options. It offers an industry standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), providing clock, chip select and data I/O pins in a space saving 8-pin package. The device has a 32-byte page write buffer and supports up to 10 MHz SPI clock frequencies. It is write protected with a dedicated pin or, alternatively, through the upper address bits.
