The ENC28J60-I/SS is an Ethernet controller with a 10Base-T standard, communicating via SPI with a TSSOP28 package, and rated for a supply voltage of 3.1÷3.6V. It is designed and manufactured by Microchip, a company specializing in semiconductors. This part provides a low power, designated low pin count solution for local area network (LAN) manufactures requiring 10Base-T performance. It also provides server interface on an 8- or 16-bit microcontroller, and is suitable for IP camera, home automation, and other applications. The device contains a MAC, a built-in 8 kB RAM buffer, and industry standard MII/RMII interface. The device also supports power down sleep-mode, filters drops illegal packets, supports multicast address, and is hardware compliant with IEEE 802.3 & 802.2 standards.
