MIC2877 2 MHz Synchronous Low Voltage Step-Up Regulator with 6.5A Switch and Bidirectional Load Disconnect Features Applications USB OTG and HDMI Hosts Typical 6.5A Input Peak Current Limit Portable Power Reserve Supplies Up to 95% Efficiency High-Current Parallel Lithium Cell Applications Fully Integrated, High-Efficiency, 2 MHz Switching Portable Equipment Frequency Bidirectional True Load Disconnect, Overvoltage General Description Protection (OVP) and Undervoltage Lockout The MIC2877 is a compact and highly efficient 2 MHz (UVLO) synchronous boost regulator with a typically 6.5A Controlled Pre-Charge Current Limit at Start-Up switch. It features a bidirectional true load disconnect Ultra-Fast Transient Response function that prevents any leakage current between the Input Voltage Range from 2.5V to 5.5V input and output when the device is disabled Maximum Output Current: (EN = GND), it protects the input supply and improves the start-up performance. -1.5A, V = 2.5V and V =5V IN OUT = 3V and V =5V -2A,V The MIC2877 has the input voltage range between IN OUT 2.5V and 5.5V and provides a 2A output continuous Output Voltage Range: current for V =3.0V and V =5V. Fixed and IN OUT - Adjustable adjustable versions are available. - Fixed Versions: 4.75V, 5V, 5.25V, 5.5V The MIC2877 operates in Bypass mode automatically Integrated Anti-Ringing Switch for when the input voltage is higher or equal to the target Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Reduction output voltage. At light loads, the boost converter goes Typically Less than 2 A Shutdown Current to Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode to Internal Compensation improve the efficiency. In Shutdown mode (EN = GND), V Bypass Mode for V the regulator typically consumes less than 2 A. IN OUT Power Good (PG) Output The MIC2877 also features an integrated anti-ringing Overcurrent Protection and Thermal Shutdown switch to minimize EMI, overvoltage and overcurrent protection, UVLO and thermal shutdown.
