MP2610 2A, 24V Input, 1.1MHz 1/2 - Cell Switching Li-Ion Battery Charger The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP2610 is a monolithic switching charger Charges 1/2 - cell Li-Ion battery packs for 1 or 2 cells Li-Ion battery packs with a built- Wide 5V to 24V Operating Input Range in internal power MOSFET. It achieves up to 2A Up to 2A Programmable Charging Current charge current with current mode control for 0.75% V Accuracy BATT fast loop response and easy compensation. 0.2 Internal Power MOSFET Switch The charge current can be programmed by Up to 90% Efficiency sensing the current through an accurate sense Fixed 1.1MHz Frequency resistor. Preconditioning for Fully Depleted Batteries MP2610 regulates the charge current and Charging Operation Indicator charger voltage using two control loops to Input Supply and Battery Fault Indicator realize high accuracy CC charge and CV Thermal Shutdown charge. Cycle-by-Cycle Over Current Protection Battery Temperature Monitor and Protection Fault condition protection includes cycle - by - cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown. APPLICATIONS Other safety features include battery temperature Distributed Power Systems monitoring, charge status indication, and Chargers for 1-Cell or 2-Cell Li-Ion Batteries programmable timer to cease the charging cycle. Smart Phones The MP2610 requires a minimum number of Portable DVD Player readily available standard external components. The MP2610 is available in 4mm4mm 16-pin MPS and The Future of Analog IC Technology are Registered Trademarks of QFN package. Monolithic Power Systems, Inc.
