MP5014A 12 V, 5 A, Programmable Current-Limit Switch with Over-Volatge Clamp and Slew-Rate Control in TSOT23-8 The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP5014A is a protection device designed to 10 V to 13.8 V Operating Input Range protect circuitry on the output (source) from 15 V Typical Output Over-Voltage Clamp transients on the input (V ). Also, it protects V CC CC Absolute Maximum Voltage of 22 V from undesired shorts and transients coming Input Under-Voltage Lockout from the source. Low Inrush Current during Start-Up Integrated 36 m Power FET At start-up, the inrush current is limited by Enable/Fault Pin restricting the slew rate at the source. The slew rate is controlled by a small capacitor at DV/DT. Adjustable Slew Rate for Output Voltage DV/DT has an internal circuit that allows this pin Adjustable Current Limit to float (no connection) and still receive 1 ms Thermal Protection ramp time at the source. TSOT23-8 Package The maximum load at the output is current limited. APPLICATIONS This is accomplished by utilizing a sense FET Storage (HDDs, SSDs) topology. The magnitude of the current limit is Hot-Swap Systems controlled by an external resistor from I-LIMIT to Set-Top Boxes SOURCE.
