MP5512 18V, 4.5A, High-Efficiency Energy Storage and Management Unit for SSD Applications The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES Wide 4V-to-18V Operating Input Range MP5512 is a high-efficiency energy storage and Programmable Storage Voltage Up to 40V management unit targeting solid-state and Programmable Input-Current Limit Up to hard-disk drive applications. Its highly 4.5A integrated input-current limit and energy storage and release management provide an Input Reverse-Current Protection efficient, compact system solution for SSD Adjustable dv/dt Slew Rate for Bus Voltage applications. Start-up 14m MOSFET for Input Hot-swap The internal input-current-limit block with dv/dt Internal 140m and 110m Power control prevents an inrush current during Switches for Energy-Storage and Release- system start-up. The bus voltage start-up slew Management Circuits rate is programmable it includes a power-on- V Power-Good Indicator B reset function for hot-swapping. MPS patented Input-Failure Indicator and Input-Early energy-storage and release-management Warning for V Voltage IN control circuit minimizes the storage capacitor 3% Input-Current Limit at 2A requirement. It boosts the input voltage to a higher storage voltage and releases the energy 0.1uF Input capacitor for Hot-swap over a hold-up time in case of an input outage.
