MP8716 High Efficiency 3A, 21V, 500kHz Synchronous Step-down Converter The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP8716 is a high frequency synchronous Wide 4.5V to 21V Operating Input Range rectified step-down switch mode converter with 3A Output Current built in internal power MOSFETs. It offers a Low Rds(on) Internal Power MOSFETs very compact solution to achieve 3A continuous Proprietary Switching Loss Reduction output current over a wide input supply range Technique with excellent load and line regulation. The High Efficiency Synchronous Mode Operation MP8716 has synchronous mode operation for Fixed 500kHz Switching Frequency higher efficiency over output current load range. Sync from 300kHz to 2MHz External Clock Current mode operation provides fast transient 1.5ms Internal Soft-Start Time response and eases loop stabilization. Internal Compensation OCP Protection and Hiccup Full protection features include OCP and Thermal Shutdown thermal shut down. Output Adjustable from 0.8V The MP8716 requires a minimum number of Available in a Thermally Enhanced 8-pin SOIC readily available standard external components package and is available in a space saving 8-pin SOIC package with an exposed pad.
