MP2636 3.0A Single Cell Switch Mode Battery Charger with Power Path Management (PPM) and 3.0A System Boost Current The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP2636 is a highly-integrated, flexible Up to 16V Sustainable Input Voltage switch-mode battery charger with system power 4.5V-to-6V Operation Voltage Range path management, designed for single-cell Li- Power Management Function, Integrated ion or Li-Polymer batteries used in a wide range Input-Current Limit, Input Voltage of portable applications. Regulation Up to 3.0A Programmable Charge Current The MP2636 can operate in both charge mode Trickle-Charge Function and boost mode to allow full system Analog Voltage Output IB pin for Battery management and battery power management. Current Monitor When input power is present, the device Selectable 4.2V / 4.3V / 4.35V Charge operates in charge mode. It automatically Voltage with 0.5% Accuracy detects the battery voltage and charges the Negative Temperature Coefficient Pin for battery in three phases: trickle current, constant Temperature Monitoring current and constant voltage. Other features Programmable Timer Back-up Protection include charge termination and auto-recharge. Thermal Regulation and Thermal This device also integrates both input current Shutdown limit and input voltage regulation in order to Internal Battery Reverse Leakage Blocking manage input power and meet the priority of the Integrated Over Current Protection and system power demand. Over Voltage Protection for Pass-through In the absence of an input source, the MP2636 Path switches to boost mode through the MODE pin Reverse Boost Operation Mode for System to power the SYS pins from the battery.
