The Nexperia 74HC390DB.118 is a dual BCD decade counter with decoder which consists of two separate, 4-stage BCD (Binary Coded Decimal) ripple counters. The individual counters are triggered on the rising edge of the clock pulses. The decoder output is an active LOW BCD-to-decimal decoder with ten individual active LOW output lines, Q0 to Q9. The ten outputs are connected in a 7-segment pattern, while Q0’ is the active LOW output of the first counter, and Q9 is the active LOW output of the 9th phase of the second counter. This part also features a reset terminal which takes the part to zero when a logic LOW is applied and no further counting is done until the input is removed again.
