The MC74ACT245DTR2G from ON Semiconductor is an octal bidirectional transceiver device designed for low voltage (2.7-V to 5.5-V) VCC operation. It is ideal for use in high speed biphase or multiphasic mark–space applications. The device contains two independent transceivers with direction control. Each direction control pin (DIR) determines the direction of data flow for the associated transceiver. Data present at the inputs is transferred to the outputs when the associated DIR pin is logic HIGH. Data present at the outputs is transferred to the inputs when the associated DIR pin is logic LOW. In addition, each receiver features an open-collector active-LOW output which, when enabled via the active-LOW output enable pin (OEn), may be used in wired-OR applications. The device is equipped with a common active-LOW chip enable (CE\,), which, when enabled, allows data to flow through either chosen transceiver or independent flow through both transceivers. This device is suitable for bus-oriented applications requiring data transfer between two bidirectional buses.
