NCL30080 Quasi-Resonant Primary Side Current-Mode Controller for LED Lighting The NCL30080 is a PWM current mode controller targeting isolated flyback and nonisolated constant current topologies. The controller www.onsemi.com operates in a quasiresonant mode to provide high efficiency. Thanks to a novel control method, the device is able to precisely regulate a constant LED current from the primary side. This removes the need for secondary side feedback circuitry, biasing and an optocoupler. 1 The device is highly integrated with a minimum number of external TSOP6 components. A wide V range simplifies the design process and SN SUFFIX CC CASE 318G allows a single design to support a wide LED forward voltage range. A robust suite of safety protection is built in to simplify the design. This device is specifically intended for very compact space efficient MARKING DIAGRAM designs.
