The NCP1655 is a low-cost, high-performance, fully integrated, resonant mode controller for multi-mode power factor correction (PFC). This device is optimized for low operating frequency, and features a low off-time gate driver, and up to 99.9% power factor correction. It utilizes a MOSFET gate driver that can be used up to a maximum frequency of 200kHz, and provides a high level of robustness and current protection. The NCP1655 can reduce system size and cost by combining a single-stage PFC with 50V PFC Boost and an auxiliary controller in one single-stage design. Additionally, the controller offers remote on/off functionality, a comprehensive fault protection system, pre-biased start up that reduces the need for external components, and minimal size and cost advantages.
