DUSTER (Digital Undersea Subsurface Technology for Exploration and Research) is part of the U.S. Navy’s Portable Rapid-Deployment Experimental and Research Facility (PRF). DUSTER provides scalable and flexible resistance from deep-sea oceanic environments and offers high-end technology and capabilities for exploring and researching unmanned undersea vehicles in depths of up to 6000 feet. DUSTER is capable of accommodating any size or shape of unmanned vehicle or platform and can be configured to accommodate a wide range of other experiments and payloads. DUSTER’s design incorporates advanced techniques and materials designed to enhance the performance and reliability of the unmanned vehicles and payloads while providing a low cost and efficient platform. It also offers a safe workspace and operational environment that allows testing of more advanced systems, especially those that can be difficult or time-consuming to test under natural conditions.
