SX8654/SX8655/SX8656 Haptics Enabled 4/5-Wire Resistive Touchscreen Controller with Proximity Sensing ADVANCED COMMUNICATIONS & SENSING KEY PRODUCT FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION Low Voltage Operation The SX8654, SX8655 and SX8656 belong to a family 2.3V to 3.6V Supply of high performance haptics enabled 4/5-wire Integrated Low Drop Out (LDO) Regulator resistive touch screen controller with proximity detection, optimized for hand held applications such Low Power Consumption as mobile phones, portable music players, game 30uA 2.3V 8ksps (ESR) machines, point-of-sales terminal and other 0.4uA Shut-Down Current consumer and industrial applications. They feature a 4/5-Wire Touchscreen Interface wide input supply range from 2.3V to 3.6V. Precision, Ratiometric 12-bit ADC The controller computes touch screen X-Y Up to 5000 (X-Y) coordinates/second (c/s) coordinates and touch pressure with a precision, low power 12-bit analog-digital converter. On-chip data Programmable Digital Filtering/Averaging averaging processing algorithms can be activated to Touch Pressure Measurement (4-Wire) reduce host activity and suppress system noise. The Programmable Operating Mode (Manual, processing core features low power modes which Pen Detect, Pen Trigger) intelligently minimize current in operation as well as in Capacitive Proximity Sensing (SX8654/56) automatic shut-down. Haptics control can be Early Warning and Over-Temperature performed using either an external PWM signal or the Monitoring and Protection I2C serial interface, providing simple host interfacing 400kHz I2C Serial Interface and minimizing its I/O requirement.
