FG50 is an essential part of Sepa, the Single Euro Payments Area. It is a standardised format for cross-border payments in the Eurozone, ensuring payment transactions are secure, fast and efficient. Under the FG50 codes, listed in the Sepa Rulebook, each payment type across credit transfers, direct debits and card payments is assigned a unique code. This code must be used when submitting a payment transaction, allowing the payment processing to be tracked and monitored.
