The L4962A is an integrated circuit from STMicroelectronics. It is a step down, low dropout regulator, capable of delivering up to 1.5A of continuous current with a voltage output range of up to 18V. The device is available in a compact SOIC-8 package and offers wide input voltage range and excellent line and load regulation performance. It includes a low dropout voltage of 50mV at the full rated output current, making it suitable for systems that require lower dissipation. The L4962A requires a very low quiescent current to maintain regulation, and offers safe restart, overcurrent, and thermal protection. The adjustable output voltage of the device is set using a resistive voltage divider, allowing very accurate regulation.
