The STMicroelectronics L99SM81VQ6TR is a low-voltage (3.3 V to 5 V), programmable stepper motor driver for automotive applications with micro-stepping and stall detection. It utilizes a built-in dual channel MOSFETs low-side driver and external high-side driver with current sensing, which offer high current (<2A) and low on-resistance (<0.2 O) solutions for x- and y-axis stepper axes. The driver features StallGuard2™ technology, which is capable of detecting motor deceleration or stalling. This allows the driver to detect when the motor should be stopped or reversed, making it ideal for automotive motion control applications. The Motor/Motion/Ignition Controllers & Drivers also includes a soft start/stop feature, current regulation, direction sensing, and overheating protection, making it a reliable and efficient motor control solution for use in a wide variety of applications.
