The LM2576T-5.0 is a switching regulator IC, manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is a positive fixed 5V, single output, and three A TO-220-5 IC. The output voltage is preset to 5 volts and is adjustable; however, the adjustment range is limited by the external components used. It is a current mode, step-down (buck), switching regulator that is designed to deliver high efficiency, fast transient response, and an easy-to-use, snap-together design. It takes in an input voltage of up to 40V and can deliver up to 3A of output current. The device features a wide-input voltage range, low quiescent current, excellent line and load regulation characteristics, thermal shutdown protection, current limit protection, and a logic-controlled enable pin for added system flexibility. It is also available in a variety of package sizes and offers a choice of either through-hole or surface mount assembly.
