The LM317SX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a CMOS voltage regulator designed for use in applications with higher switching and power conversion requirements. Input voltage range for the regulator is 3 V to 40 V, and the output voltage range is 1.2 V to 37 V adjustable. It offers a power dissipation of up to 500 mW, and a thermal shutdown feature preventing overheating of the device. The device also features current limiting, short circuit protection and thermal protection. The regulator is offered in an 8-pin SOIC surface mount package, making it suitable for applications that require a small footprint.
