The UC2844N is a monolithic integrated circuit from Texas Instruments that combines a fixed-frequency current-mode control circuitry with a high-speed power MOSFET and IGBT driver. The chip is designed for off-line or DC to DC fixed-frequency current-mode switching power supplies with minimal external components. The chip is capable of controlling a wide range of power switch configurations including synchronous or nonsynchronous rectifiers, voltage sources or shunts, DC/DC converters, as well as multiple switch forward converters. The chip features programmable peak current mode control with cycle-by-cycle current limit and advanced protection features including over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-temperature protection.
