The TM1616 is compatible with 4-bit, 6-bit, 8-bit, 10-bit and 12-bit gray scale LED display. It consists of a display memory, a data latch, a data register, an 8-bit shift register, a duty cycle generator, an address counter, a scan counter, an LED display segment controller, and a power on/off circuit. The TM1616 also includes an on-chip oscillator, making it ideal for building LED displays in resource-limited applications. It has 16-pin SOP package and is compliant with RoHS standards.
