It consists of a PTC resettable fuse (Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient Resettable Fuse). This type of PTC fuse is designed to protect low voltage circuits from overcurrents caused by shorts or surges. The PTC fuse acts like a standard fuse, but is designed to be self-resetting after the short or surge has cleared. This makes the PTC fuse ideal for protection in devices and circuits that are likely to experience short-term, high current spikes. The TLC-FSMD020 is rated for voltages of up to 12V and peak currents of up to 6A.
