The TMI8870 ESOP-8 Motor Driver IC is a RoHS-compliant motor driver IC specifically designed for applications such as brushless DC motors, fans, and pumps. It supports 6-phase stepper motor control, providing a range of features and benefits including: dynamic current control, high current capability, soft start, protection against overcurrent, thermal shutdown, pulse-width modulation for speed control, and support for different winding configurations. Additionally, the TMI8870 features an integrated charge pump to minimise external component count and reduce board space. With an input voltage range of 4.5V-20V, the TMI8870 can drive up to 40A output current, while its operating temperature range supports the harshest industrial and automotive applications.
