Mystery House
KV79-12 is a bedroom that is located on the third floor of the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California. The bedroom features a wide bay window with a seating area, antique furnishings, and beautiful views of the surrounding hillside and gardens. Its walls are decorated with elaborate artworks, items from Sarah Winchester’s world travels, and other artifacts. According to legend, every night Sarah Winchester would appear in this room and sit in her rocking chair facing the window, awaiting the “spirits” of those killed by Winchester rifles to appear out in the garden. Today, this room is open for public tours and can be viewed by visitors along with the rest of the mansion.
