The ISO1540DR with Texas Instruments Digital Isolators Low-Power, Bidirectional I2C Isolator is an electro-mechanical isolation chip that provides exceptional electrical isolation of a low power I2C bus. It works by electrically isolating the high-speed digital signals that pass through it while providing a low-power interface for bidirectional I2C communication. This isolator is ideal for applications that require a safe and reliable connection between different voltage levels, such as motor controllers, industrial control systems, communication networks, and other industrial automation systems. The ISO1540DR comes in multiple configurations and features two selectable TX and RX channels for improved communication and increased isolation, allowing data to pass while providing isolation between the output/input. It also features an adjustable operating voltage range from 2.5 to 5.5V, a low propagation delay of 5µs, and a wide input voltage range of 2.5 to 5.5V. All these features make it ideal for applications that require low-power and high isolation.
