Fibre Optic Switches

Fibre optic switches are network devices that provide a way to move network traffic from one optical fibre to another. These switches have a number of advantages over traditional copper switches, such as greater throughput, lower signal loss, and increased scalability. Fibre optic switches also offer improved security, as they are more difficult to tap into than copper networks. Fibre optic switches use two types of core technology: active optical networking and passive optical networking. Active optical networking uses lasers to transmit data, while passive optical networking connects optical fibres directly to one another. Fibre optic switches are the heart of any fibre optic network, providing the backbone for data transmission. With their fast speeds of up to 200 Gbps and faster, fibre optic switches offer increased performance and scalability for businesses.
