Source Measure Units - SMUs

A Source Measure Unit (SMU) is a type of instrumentation device used to measure and source electrical current, voltage and power. It offers several advantages over traditional testing methods such as high precision and accuracy, high speed and ease of use. SMUs can supply both currents and voltages and can measure current, voltage, resistance, capacitance and power. The instrument can be used to test everything from power electronic converters to small electronic components. SMUs can also be used for DC characterization and DAC/ADC testing.
