SHUTDOWN CURRENT (A) LTC1338 5V Low Power RS232 5-Driver/3-Receiver Transceiver DESCRIPTIO FEATURES n Low Supply Current: 500A The LTC1338 is a 5-driver/3-receiver RS232 trans- n 0.2A Supply Current in SHUTDOWN ceiver with very low supply current. In the no load n 50A Supply Current in RECEIVER ALIVE Mode condition, the supply current is only 500A. The charge n ESD Protection Over 10kV pump only requires four 0.1F capacitors. n Operates from a Single 5V Supply In SHUTDOWN mode, the supply current is further n Uses Small Capacitors: 0.1F reduced to 0.2A. In RECEIVER ALIVE mode, all three n Operates to 120k Baud receivers are kept alive and the supply current is 50A. n Three-State Outputs Are High Impedance When Off All RS232 outputs assume a high impedance state in n Output Overvoltage Does Not Force Current SHUTDOWN and with the power off. Back into Supplies n The LTC1338 is fully compliant with all data rate and RS232 I/O Lines Can Be Forced to 25V overvoltage RS232 specifications.
