POWER LOSS (W) LTC7130 20V 20A Monolithic Buck Converter with Ultralow DCR Sensing FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Wide V Range: 4.5V to 20V IN The LTC 7130 is a current mode synchronous step-down n Optimized for Low Duty Cycle Applications monolithic converter that can deliver up to 20A continuous n High Efficiency: Up to 95% load current. It employs a unique architecture which enhances n LTC Proprietary Current Mode Architecture the signal-to-noise ratio of the current sense signal, allow- n High Current Parallel Operation ing the use of a very low DC resistance power inductor to n Ultralow DCR Current Sensing with maximize efficiency in high current applications. This feature TemperatureCompensation also reduces the switching jitter commonly found in low n Programmable Output Current Limit DCR applications. The LTC7130 also includes a high speed n High Speed Differential Remote Sense Amplifier differential remote sense amplifier and a programmable cur- n 0.5% Output Voltage Regulation Accuracy rent sense limit that can be selected from 10mV to 30mV to n set the output current limit up to 20A. In addition, the DCR Output Short-Circuit Protection with Soft Recovery n temperature compensation feature limits the maximum Programmable Soft-Start, Tracking n output current precisely over temperature. Programmable Fixed Frequency: 250kHz to 770kHz n EXTV for Reduced Power Dissipation CC The LTC7130 also features a precise 0.6V reference with a n Fault Indicator for Output UV/OV Conditions guaranteed limit of 0.5% that provides an accurate output n 6.25mm 7.5mm 2.22mm BGA Package voltage. A 5V to 20V input voltage range supports a wide variety of bus voltages and various types of batteries.
