MAX1036MAX1039 19-2442 Rev 4 5/09 2.7V to 3.6V and 4.5V to 5.5V, Low-Power, 4-/12-Channel 2-Wire Serial 8-Bit ADCs General Description Features The MAX1036MAX1039 low-power, 8-bit, multichannel, 2 High-Speed I C-Compatible Serial Interface analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) feature internal 400kHz Fast Mode track/hold (T/H), voltage reference, clock, and an 1.7MHz High-Speed Mode 2 I C-compatible 2-wire serial interface. These devices Single Supply operate from a single supply and require only 350A at 2.7V to 3.6V (MAX1037/MAX1039) the maximum sampling rate of 188ksps. Auto- Shutdown powers down the devices between conver- 4.5V to 5.5V (MAX1036/MAX1038) sions reducing supply current to less than 1A at low Internal Reference throughput rates. The MAX1036/MAX1037 have four ana- 2.048V (MAX1037/MAX1039) log input channels each, while the MAX1038/MAX1039 4.096V (MAX1036/MAX1038) have twelve analog input channels. The analog inputs are software configurable for unipolar or bipolar and single- External Reference: 1V to V DD ended or pseudo-differential operation. Internal Clock The full-scale analog input range is determined by the 4-Channel Single-Ended or 2-Channel Pseudo- internal reference or by an externally applied reference Differential (MAX1036/MAX1037) voltage ranging from 1V to V . The MAX1037/ DD MAX1039 feature a 2.048V internal reference and the 12-Channel Single-Ended or 6-Channel Pseudo- MAX1036/MAX1038 feature a 4.096V internal reference. Differential (MAX1038/MAX1039) The MAX1036/MAX1037 are available in 8-pin SOT23 Internal FIFO with Channel-Scan Mode packages. The MAX1038/MAX1039 are available in 16- Low Power pin QSOP packages. The MAX1036MAX1039 are guar- anteed over the extended industrial temperature range 350A at 188ksps (-40C to +85C).
