MAX3316MAX3319 19-1751 Rev 0 6/00 2.5V, 1A, 460kbps, RS-232-Compatible Transceivers General Description Features The MAX3316MAX3319 transceivers have a proprietary AutoShutdown Plus (MAX3318/MAX3319) low-dropout transmitter output stage enabling RS-232- 300A Operating Supply Current compatible performance from +2.25V to +3.0V with a dual-charge pump. These devices require only four 1A Low-Power Shutdown with Receivers Active 0.1F capacitors, and are guaranteed to operate at data Guaranteed 460kbps Data Rate rates up to 460kbps. Guaranteed 4V/s Slew Rate The MAX3318/MAX3319 achieve a 1A supply current RS-232 Compatible Down to 2.25V using Maxims revolutionary AutoShutdown Plus fea- ture. These devices automatically enter a low-power shutdown mode when the RS-232 cable is disconnected Ordering Information or the transmitters of the connected peripherals are inac- PART TEMP. The MAX3317 features a 1A shutdown mode that can be +2.5V entered by driving SHDN low. The MAX3317s receivers 15 remain active while in shutdown mode, allowing external 0.1 F C BYPASS V CC devices such as modems to be monitored using only 3 2 C1+ V+ 1A supply current.
