The Brainboxes ED-560 is an RS232 Serial to Ethernet device server. It is designed to allow serial devices to be connected to an Ethernet network, so they can be remotely accessed over a network or the Internet. It is an "out of the box" solution allowing almost any RS232 device to be connected to an Ethernet network. It provides connections for up to four RS232 devices to a single device server, allowing simultaneous multiple device access. The ED-560 supports various features, including DHCP, HTTP and SNMP for device configuration and troubleshooting, as well as standard Ethernet/IP support for remote monitoring. It also provides user authentication, secure control over the network and rigorous built-in security features.
