The 6N137 is a RoHS compliant 8-pin optocoupler DIP from CT Micro International. It is a single channel coupler which isolates digital logic signals between two components with high speed. It has a 5000 VRMS input to output isolation and features a 6V output voltage with a 16mA output current. The device is capable of responding to an input frequency up to 10MHz, making it suitable for a variety of low-speed applications. This device is commonly used in systems where noise must be minimized and safety is a concern, such as motor controllers, industrial controllers, and isolators.
