The SL4-PIB-EMH is a communication module from Eaton that provides a facile, scalable, and reliable communication platform for use in industrial applications. This module uses Profibus DP communication, as well as Ethernet TCP/IP to ensure reliable and secure communication between various industrial devices. The module supports many types of communication, including textual and binary data, Integer and Float values, and Structured Codes. Additionally, the module functions in compliance with EMS, or Ethernet Message Specification, and allows fully compliant transfer and signaling of data between field devices and the control system. The SL4-PIB-EMH also supports Eaton’s polling technology, allowing it to be used in distributed applications and networks, as well as providing an alternative to Modbus communication. Finally, the module includes integrated software functions, allowing users to easily set parameters and quickly configure the module.
