The 74HC595N with Shift Registers DIP-16 RoHS manufactured by HGSEMI is an integrated circuit which contains an 8-bit serial-in/parallel-out shift register, an 8-bit D-type storage register, and output logic to control data transfer. The device is designed to receive serial data and shift it through the internal shift register to the output register provided on the device. During each register clock pulse, the data is shifted one bit. The device's outputs are gated from the registers on and off with the RCLK, or register clock, signal. The output logic also incorporates a separate enable line to control the output states. The 74HC595N can be triggered with either positive or negative rising and falling edges of the RCLK signal. This device is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant and operates over a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
