The HEF4040BP is a part of NXP's EXceLfamily of logic devices. It is a 16-bit CMOS dual-D-type flip-flop that can be used as an edge-triggered single-clock master/slave flip-flop. The HEF4040BP features a J-K flip-flop, a latch-enable input (LE), and an asynchronous preset and clear inputs. It is designed for low-power, high-speed CMOS operation. The HEF4040BP has a maximum propagation time of 3 ns and a power dissipation of 2.7 mW at 5 V operation. All inputs are pinned to Schmitt trigger threshold levels to improve noise margin. This chip is available in PDIP16, SOI16, and TSSOP16 packages.
