The TIP121 part of STMicroelectronics is a power Darlington transistor designed for use in power switching applications. The transistor is designed to have a high-voltage and high-current capability, and it also acts as an interface between low-level control signals and high-power circuits such as DC motors, relays, and solenoids. The part features an integrated Darlington configuration that provides a high current gain of 1000, allowing the part to drive heavy loads with a small input signal. The TIP121 also features an internal suppressor diode and an insulated package for improved safety when used in switching circuits.
