About Gate Drivers
Gate Drivers
A gate driver is a power electronic circuit that is used to control the operation of a switching device, such as a MOSFET, IGBT or SCR, in a power electronic system. It is a small driver circuit that is placed between the control system and the power device it is controlling. The gate driver converts a low-power control input signal into a higher-power signal level that is capable of operating the power device. The gate driver also provides a robust, yet isolated interface between the control system and switching device. Gate drivers are used in a variety of power conversion applications and can be designed for various power levels and requirements.
