LTM4636-1 40A Module Regulator with Overvoltage/ Overtemperature Protection FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Overtemperature, Input/Output Overvoltage The LTM 4636-1 is a 40A step-down Module (power Protection module) switching regulator with stacked inductor as a n Trips Upstream Power Source or Circuit Breaker heat sink for heat dissipation and cooler operation in a n Stacked Inductor Acts as Heat Sink small package. The LTM4636-1 detects overtemperature n and input/output overvoltage conditions and can trip an up- Wide Input Voltage Range: 4.7V to 15V n stream power supply or circuit breaker to protect itself and 0.6V to 3.3V Output Voltage Range n its load. The exposed inductor as a heat sink permits direct 1.3% Total DC Output Voltage Error (40C to 125C) n contact with airflow from any direction. The LTM4636-1 Differential Remote Sense Amplifier for Precision can deliver 40W (12V , 1V , 40A, 200LFM) with only Regulation IN OUT n 40C rise over the ambient temperature. Full-power 40W Current Mode Control/Fast Transient Response n is delivered up to 83C ambient and half-power 20W is Frequency Synchronization n supported at 110C ambient. Parallel Current Sharing (Up to 240A) n 88% Efficiency (12V , 1V ) at 40A IN OUT The LTM4636-1 operates at 92%, 90% and 88% efficiency n Overcurrent Foldback Protection delivering 15A, 30A and 40A, respectively, to a 1V load n Overtemperature Shutdown (12V ). The Module regulator is scalable where four IN n 16mm 16mm 7.07mm BGA Package in current sharing deliver 160W with only 40C rise and 88% efficiency (12V , 1V , 400LFM).
