The BC557 is a PNP bipolar transistor designed for general purpose amplifier and switching applications. It is designed for low-power and medium-power applications at collector currents up to 100 mA and collector-emitter voltages up to 40 V. It has a gain-bandwidth product of 625 MHz and features a low noise figure and low saturation voltage. It can be used to replace a variety of other transistors.
