The LP3980-12B5F is a Low Dropout (LDO) Regulator in a small SOT23-5 (leadless) RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant surface mount package which is manufactured by LOWPOWERINC. It is designed to provide a low output voltage (up to 12V) at a maximum current of 5A with extremely low quiescent current (Iq). It is capable of supplying high output current at a very low dropout voltage (typically 90 mV @ 500 mA). Other features include low temperature coefficient, exceptional line regulation, fast transient response, and high output accuracy. It is suitable for battery-powered systems applications like cell phones, PDAs, portable navigation systems, and digital cameras.
