MPQ8612 High Efficiency, 12A, 6V Synchronous Step-down Converter DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MPQ8612 is fully integrated high frequency 1.5V to 6V Wide Input Range synchronous rectified step-down switch mode 3V to 6V VCC Operating Supply converter. It offers very compact solutions to 12A Output Current achieve 12A output current from a 3V to 6V input Low R (ON) Internal Power MOSFETs DS with excellent load and line regulation. Proprietary Switching Loss Reduction Technique Constant-On-Time (COT) control mode Adaptive COT for Ultrafast Transient provides fast transient response and eases loop Response stabilization. The MPQ8612 can operate with a low-cost electrolytic capacitor and can support 1% Reference Voltage Over -20C to ceramic output capacitor with external slope +85C Junction Temperature Range compensation. Programmable Soft Start Time Pre-Bias Start up Operating frequency is programmed by an Programmable Switching Frequency from external resistor and is compensated for 300kHz to 1MHz. variations in VIN. Minimum On Time T =60ns ON MIN Under voltage lockout is internally set at 2.8 V, Minimum Off Time T =75ns OFF MIN but can be increased by programming the Non-latch OCP, non-latch OVP Protection threshold with a resistor network on the enable and Thermal Shutdown pin. The output voltage startup ramp is Output Adjustable from 0.608V to 4.5V controlled by the soft start pin. A power good signal indicates the output is within its nominal APPLICATIONS voltage range. Telecom System Base Stations Full fault protection including OCP, SCP, OVP Networking Systems UVP and OTP is provided by internal Server comparators. Personal Video Recorders Flat Panel Television and Monitors The MPQ8612 requires a minimum number of Distributed Power Systems readily available standard external components and are available in QFN3X4 packages.
